upsc held civil service preliminary examination 26 may 2013. More then lakh candidates participated in preliminary examination 2013. After the enactment of csat from 2011, every csat examination now becomes surprising in comparison to previous year examination. After avoiding the optional subject in pre exam and introducing a separate question paper of csat aptitude test in upsc preliminarily examination, definitely upsc will be able to search a good talent for administration. Now upsc leaved the old subjective trained of ias examination.
Mostly questions of csat were base on comprehension type. So it was difficult to judge what the exact answer of is given questions. Only a candidates have good preparation of civil service examination can solve the comprehension type of questions. More then 50% of question of csat paper was concentrated to reading comprehension only. More then 80 % questions was based on comprehension type and 8 questions was based on the decision making.
In starting of csat pattern in 2011 there was no provision of minus marking but after getting experience of two examination, this year negative marking will be applicable. For each question for which a wrong answer has been marked, 1/3rd of the marks assigned to that question will be Deducted as penalty

Well upsc never publish the cutoff marks for civil service preliminary examination. They just declared the roll no of qualified candidates during the declaration of the results. What do you think what will expected cutoff marks for this year out of 200 marks each paper ? how many questions you have attempted correctly in this examination ? we uploaded the answer key of all set here.. you can check your answer with our answer sheet pf paper I and Paper 2.

What will be cutoff for uppsc 2013 pre this year separste categary.
the cut off will be 195 to 210. a proper analysis of factors like toughness of paper, number of candidates appeared, number of vacancies, negative marking etc. reveal this. every idiot is claiming to score 220-240; i think they are for sure making mistake in calculating their marks or they are using answer keys of some '420 guruji'. mostly the students of delhi region are claiming these outstanding scores, but they are not aware of the fact that upsc doesn't care about what they and their gurujis believe.
making mistakes is human instinct, upsc is completely aware of this fact and uses it properly. a student makes error in paper in two case-
1. if he thinks the paper is too easy.
2. or if he thinks paper is too much for him.
the same things will happen with this paper also. these so called gurujis are estimating cut offs for this huge exam in which near about 2 lakh students participated just in the basis of views and experiences of few hundreds of students.
will you agree with their view and stop preparing for mains???? if any student of general category is scoring arround 200, is taking these estimates seriuosly and not preparing for mains, then he is commiting a serious mistake of his life.

As per answer keys provided by different groups I secured 189 (approx) but still I could not qualify this year's prelims. I am wondering what would be the cut off marks for ST category candidate?
